Melinda Nasers is the owner of Grace Boutique, a boutique consignment shop. Melinda obtained a Certified Medical Assistant Certificate in 1995 through Spencer College, in Spencer, IA. Melinda worked as a Medical Assistant for just over two years, when she decided to work with her husband Scott on the family farm, NNIK Pork Inc. a 2500 farrow to finish swine operation in rural Sibley, IA. Melinda worked 14 years actively in the barn as well as served as business manager. She has retired her barn duties and continues as the business manager.
Melinda purchased a downtown Sibley, IA building in February of 2018. She designed and took on most of the remodeling herself, along with help from family, friends, and some hired labor. With Melinda’s passion for success and zeal, she was able to open the doors of Grace Boutique just two months later April 12, 2018. Melinda is the sole owner of Grace Boutique and with the help of 3 part-time employees, made Grace Boutique a shopping destination and successful business.
Grace Boutique has an atmosphere that is clean, fresh and displays merchandise with style providing a boutique experience shopping for women’s, men’s, children’s and infant name brand clothing, and decorative household and furniture items at an affordable price. Their service surpasses that of their competition, while striving to serve the needs of the people of Sibley and surrounding areas.
November 2019 Melinda competed in the “Northwest Iowa Dream Big Grow Here” pitch competition that awards grants fund to support entrepreneurs and small businesses throughout the region. Melinda was the first-place winner and the recipient of $4000.
Melinda took her grant money and put it to work investing back into her community and her business. She purchased a much larger downtown building in need of “new life” May of 2020. Five months later Grace Boutique celebrated their relocation grand opening with a twist by adding a “Boutique Bar” offering beer and wine. Melinda has made Grace Boutique a whole new shopping experience, with Thursday ladies’ night and Friday “theme” nights. She will continue to twist her boutique to serve her customers and community, keeping Grace Boutique a shopping destination and the place to “sip and shop”.
