Success
Stories
I think I can, I think I
can...
We are all familiar with the story of The Pony
Engine. That little blue engine, who thought it could make it
up the hill, put forth effort and conquered the challenge.
That story has been an inspiration to me for
years. Not only recalling my love of trains, but the metaphor
of challenge overcome by faith. Either way that Little
Engine That Could is not dissimilar to the story of my
company.
I am often asked how I got involved in the
Embroidery Business. Though my company was officially started
in 1999 its roots go back to 1995. At that time I experimented
with a hobby sewing machine that had embroidery capabilities.
Having the opportunity to grow up in the Scouting program,
embroidery was all around me. I was always fascinated how one
could create such stunning designs with thread. Well in 1995 I
had the chance to become the creator. I played with the hobby
for a few years then moved out of state. When I returned in
1999 to my surprise there were still requests for me to do
embroidery. I was surprised because the little sewing machine
did not have the best quality. My plan was to invest a little
bit and continue the hobby. After some research and a trip to
a trade show I acquired a commercial grade embroidery machine,
embroidery software, and start up supplies. The few thousand
dollars I planned turned into a $25,000 business lease. At the
age of 21 I was in business. The first year of the business I
worked full time to pay for the machine. Then taking a leap of
faith I started the business full time in the summer of 2000.
Purchased additional machinery and moved into a retail
location.
About 3 years later an opportunity opened for
me to move my business to the City of Corona. I incorporated
my business and changed the name from Coconino Creations to
Zinc Mfg. I wanted something easier to pronounce.
Business has since grown and evolved. My
equipment configuration has changed over the years. However
the heart of the business has stayed the same. My passion is
developing business relationships. I consider many of my
clients friends and I appreciate their support year after
year. This July will commence my 10th year of business.
Though there have been times when I have wondered if I would
survive another day. I am still here. I am grateful for the
journey and look forward to the next decade of business and
the excitement that it will bring.
Like that little engine, I have thought I
could. I have done what some consider impossible. The secret
has been a circle of friends who keep me on track. Who lend me
their confidence on those days when I don't think I can make
it. To remind me it is that easy.
I lend you my confidence now. That whatever
you are going through can be overcome. Every challenge brings
opportunity. Take life and business day by day, and enjoy the
vistas that are all around. If you find yourself stuck on the
side of the mountain, stop and think: "I know I can!" Then
walk forward with faith that it will work out. The reward will
far outweigh the fight.

Over six
years ago I purchased my black BMW. When I slid
into the driver's seat I told myself that I would own
that car for ten years or more. And I am on that
path! I am really grateful for how dependable
the car has been over the years, not to mention fun
to drive! I knew I had always wanted a
black BMW, but until I bought my own, I didn't realize
that half of southern California already drove a car
just like mine. Have you experienced that
before? You buy something that you think is unique
only to discover that everyone else on the planet
already owns it. Suddenly, it is
everywhere! And so it is with
opportunities. Until they are in our awareness, we
cannot see them. Did you catch
that? During the week of May 12th, I had
another phenomenal group of business owners and sales
people attend the Selling with Intention 3-Day
Intensive. Read some
of the testimonials here! We talked about
the opportunities that escape our awareness because we
are so wrapped up in the negative things that are going
on in our businesses and in our lives. But when we
release those things that limit us, we can suddenly see
unlimited potential.
After taking the class, one
of the attendees was thrilled about the new clients who
were showing up for her. She asked me, "Were those
clients always there?" The answer is, yes,
the opportunities have always been there, but until we
get out of our own way, we cannot see them.
Inspired Action: 1. Do
you have a limiting belief or fear that you need to let
go of so you can experience all of the opportunities
that are in front of you? Whatever it is, write it
down. Look at it and list all of the evidence of
why it isn't true. Now, choose a new belief or a
perspective on your situation. 2. Commit to
yourself that you will stay open to ALL of the
opportunities that are in front of you right now!
Choose to look for YOUR black BMW every
day! Read on and enjoy the Get Inspired
article from Jerri Conrado this month - she proves that
you can recover from anything and still have huge
success in your business! Dr. Ray inspires us to become
"Big Business" thinkers and Eydie reminds us that
getting organized begins with our thoughts! Finally,
check out the sales success stories on the left and the
new testimonials at the bottom...EXCITING SALES ARE
HAPPENING IN A "DEPRESSED ECONOMY". Don't
believe the media, create your OWN success
instead!
Choose to make today your best day
yet!

Get
Inspired
By Jerri
Conrado
As a sales and marketing
consultant for over 20 years, I am professionally
trained both through education and practical experience
to spot trends, identify niches in the marketplace and
promote products and services for clients. I bring ideas
to life on a daily basis and help clients take a
brilliant concept in their mind to the marketplace in a
profitable manner. The story I'd like to
share with you today is how I was forced to apply these
same business techniques to a difficult personal
situation in my life and discovered very quickly that it
worked, just like magic.
I realize I'm not
the first person to go through difficulty, in fact, fill
a room full of people, and you'll find that over half
have experienced divorce, separation, death of a loved
one, a business failure or severe financial
problems. I've survived cancer at the age of
40 and I made it through an unsuccessful business
venture without filing bankruptcy. I know many
have endured much more pain and abuse than I, yet what I
thought was the most devastating thing to ever happen to
me, became a beautiful set of wings.
Here's my story. I hope it inspires
you.
I said I do. I did. Now, I don't...
anymore. I never dreamed that I would become an
expert in the matter of "dating" at the age of 46.
I thought I had found my soul mate and lifelong partner,
who I would grow old with. Boy was I wrong. Early
one cold, dreary morning in December, I sat down at my
computer to begin the work day as I typically do and
pressed the send/receive email to check my incoming
emails for the day. An unfamiliar name
popped up and I got chills as I read the email. It
was an alert that my husband of 22 years no longer
wanted to be married. I was stunned and couldn't
believe that he wanted to leave me and our two
children.
I'm not exactly what you would call the mild
and meek kinda gal, I decided that I could be a victim,
cry, complain and moan, or I could do what had to be
done and document the process so that anyone else going
through this could use my experience as a
guidebook. Believe me, it wasn't easy.
Thanks to a few of my best friends and my fabulous
business partner, I made it through without losing my
mind. I realized that it was not a game; I had to
get totally focused and serious about my life, my
finances and take care of myself and my children.
I had to bring out the big guns and take life by the
horns. Once the dust settled and the shock
wore off, I realized that I had been alone for a very
long time. I'm not perfect, but I'm honest, fair,
kind, a good mother and have recently discovered that
I'm fun to be around and a romantic at heart and, darn
it, I'm a smart business woman. So I began to
apply the sales and marketing principles that I've used
in my business to the world of dating. I
documented how to identify the right target market... in
this case, potential mates, work on my brand as a
single, sophisticated woman, communicate effectively and
sell the appeal or close the deal.
You might wonder how a woman who has been
married all her life could so quickly become an expert
on the topic of dating. Well, those who know
me will tell you that I'm the type that dives head first
into a new project. I believe that I'm the
architect of my own destiny and I want to create a life
of happiness, love and laughter with a life
partner. And frankly, the methods I've used works,
friends. "Marketing for a Man" was born as result
of my dating experiences and how I healed the hurt and
reclaimed my power and did I mention, created a new
profitable revenue stream for my business.
My story is meant to inspire others of all ages
to become more confident and emotionally secure as they
find their inner peace, connect with themselves; with
their families and cherished friends. Share
your stories of success, and also of failure. Turn
adversity in to advocacy. Turn your expertise and
information into products which can ultimately provide
recurring revenue for you and your business and inspire
others at the same time. I truly believe God
has a higher purpose for each of us and that the
obstacles that come in front of us are simply a window
of opportunity to learn and grow.

"How to
be a Big Winner in the Business Game"
By Dr. Ray, President
Horizons Unltd.Intl.
Whether you think of, or understand it in this
way or not, you are all in a game - THE BUSINESS
GAME! Today's business game is an intensely
competitive - brutal, impersonal - do anything to win -
take no prisoners process. Your competitors want
to beat you up - break you down - fold - mutilate -
spindle and ultimately destroy you! They will
"eat" you for lunch and not even have
indigestion! The most
important question you confront daily is: "am I going to
win or lose today?" How many of you want to be
winners every day? Remember second place is the
first loser! I want to challenge everyone of you
that is reading this to right now say within yourself:
"I'm in the business game and I'm in it to win it
EVERYDAY"! But if you want to be a big winner - it
takes more than just saying it - you have to DO some
things - take some crucial actions. In this, and
next month's issue I am going to share some of those
necessary crucial actions which you have to take to
become a BIG WINNER in today's business
game. ***THE FIRST and very
crucial element in being a winner is COMMITMENT!
Every successful individual and organization has to be
passionately committed and focused upon winning!
Why commit and focus? Pride! At first glance
you may think - "PRIDE" - that's a strange idea.
What's that got to do with being a business
winner"? The answer is: "it's very
important". Do you realize how few people really
possess a sense of self-pride in who they are, and what
they do and have to offer? They have never been a
"BIG WINNER" at much - if anything in their lives.
The bottom line is if you are committed to being a
winner and owner, or part of a winning organization you
have to be PROUD! "I am proud of who I am, what I
do and what I offer!" "I am a winner, my company
is a winner - I am the best - my company, products and
services are the best - nobody does it better!"
Remember - if YOU don't believe it no one else is going
to believe it either! COMMIT TO BEING A WINNER -
BE CONVINCED THAT YOU ARE THE
BEST! ***THE SECOND ELEMENT in
being a huge winner is: A WINNING GAME PLAN! If
you and your business are going to be HUGE WINNERS in
the business superbowl game of today you have to have a
winning game plan. And that game plan has to be
written down and every person in the organization has to
know exactly what that game plan is in all
aspects. Can you imagine the San Diego Chargers -
or any team going into the fierce, brutal competition of
the football season without a game plan? Do you
have one? Another question: "IF YOU HAVE ONE DO
YOU FOLLOW IT?" Some people and organizations have
a game plan - but never follow it - it's just so much
waste paper on a forgotten shelf. If you do not
specifically know HOW you're going to get to the goal
line - HOW ARE YOU GOING TO
WIN? I have given you two
crucial elements of HOW to be a BIG WINNER in today's
Business Game. Next month I will give you THREE
ADDITONAL ONES. Want to be a "BIG
TIME SELLER" - have a Super Selling Business? Take
Ursula Mentjes' course "Selling With Intention".

business organization? Want testimonials from Huge

How to Organize Your
Thoughts

How often has your brain lit the
"light bulb" ? You've gotten that bright idea but
didn't know how to organize and maximize your thoughts!
Just like any other goals you intend to reach, you need
to get those bright ideas down on paper! Sift
through all your thoughts and run wild with all the
ideas in your head.
Here's how you begin:
Start with a blank sheet of paper
(unlined). With your pencil (so you can erase things
when your bright ideas begin to shift), write down the
title of your bright idea in the center of the page and
also write a short description. Circle the title and
description.
Now, add more circles surrounding
the center one and add to them some of the important
components of your bright idea. Do this quickly, don't
stop to think. Use descriptive words rather than
sentences.
If needed, add more circles to
those outer circles.... find the relationships between
ideas and group them together. Add images to help you
visual your bright idea better. While adding new
details, you'll eventually pull together your whole
concept and will be better able to set your bright idea
into motion!
Organize your thoughts the same
way you organize your goals.... Write them down!
Listen to the audio version here!
Much Success,

3-Day Intensive - Testimonial
Thinking outside the box, and with
the encouragement to define my own personal intentions,
I set a May sales goal along with some stretch goals. I
kept myself focused only on success and reached the
sales goals that I set!!!
In the past, I have set goals without
clarity on how to reach them or even how to
realistically set them. How fun and exciting it was this
month to reward my sales team for making the
numbers we set out to accomplish with my leadership at
the forefront.
The 3-Day Intensive helped bring me
to the next level!!!! Thanks to Ursula's structured
methods and activities, we are a new force in
BeautiControl!!! (Whoo-Hoo!!)
