Is it 2009 already? Just shake me!  I can't even believe it! I had a wonderful time with my family over the holidays! My brother Mark and his family came out with my Mom and we truly enjoyed taking in the sites of SOCAL!  Here is a photo of us at the Festival of Lights at the Mission Inn and then at Laguna Beach in CA (I get SO inspired there!).

But, I have to tell you, I have never been more excited or more prepared for an upcoming year!

In 2008 I streamlined my systems to ensure that 2009 would be my best year yet, and I know it will.
Economists say that we will be in this recession for awhile, so rather than try to change the economy, I have decided to just continue to change my thinking!  And to help you change yours. And, amazingly, opportunities keep showing up! And showing up! And I am so grateful!

Gratitude can also transform your business and I am excited about sharing my article with you this month. When you take a view of our entire world, you quickly recognize that things are not "bad" here in the  United States.Things are just evolving and after they evolve we will be left with even more exciting opportunities!

My hope for you is that 2009 will be even better than you could have imagined.

"Allow Gratitude to Transform 2009!

One of the main things that I learned in 2008 was that when I am grateful, my business seems to flow effortlessly.  And when I am not grateful, opportunities seem to stop and my business slows down dramatically.

I had many fruitful conversations with my clients at the end of 2008 about the idea of gratitude and how it can impact a business.  There was a time in 2008 when I was completely overwhelmed with a personal issue in my life.  I kept trying to figure it out but I couldn't seem to find the answers.  So, rather than continue to force an answer, I just threw up my hands and I said, "I surrender".  I didn't have the answer, I didn't know what to do and then I just let it go.  Then I turned my attention back to all of the great things in my life and I felt a renewed sense of gratitude for everything that I have.

And guess what happened?

Yes, the situation resolved itself.  The right person showed up who could assist me with the situation and turn it around. And I was then back "in the flow" of my business and experiencing amazing financial rewards.  Choosing to feel grateful every day and to focus on all of the great things in your life WILL transform 2009.  I wanted to share a few of the lessons I have learned and how gratitude really makes a difference for me.

Gratitude is Good for Business
The Law of Attraction teaches us that whatever we focus on will grow.  When you are practicing gratitude you are focusing on those things that you are grateful for in your life. And, guess what?  You will start to get MORE of those things. Sounds simple, right?  Many people, however,  think this is "too easy" or "too good to be true". I was a skeptic at first as well, but I found that when I practiced gratitude it had a profound effect not only on my bottom line, but also on my own well being.  It was almost as if things "magically" happened without me having to put out as much effort!

Gratitude is Even More Important in a Recession
Gratitude is especially important in a recession because we are inundated with all of the "horrible" things that are going on in the world.  The media doesn't fill us in on all of the good things that are going on, so you have to be really selective about what you watch on television or look at on the internet.  In addition, many people have been impacted in different ways and may have experienced loss. If that is you, then gratitude can get you back on track and refocused on what you really want to achieve in your life.  Gratitude is also a gift you can give others when you encourage them to pull away from the "doom and gloom" and share those things they are grateful for with you.

3 Ways I Love to Practice Gratitude
~ Take a "Gratitude Walk": I try to take a walk every morning outside and when I do that I think about all of the things I have to be grateful for. It is an awesome way to begin the day and sets the stage for phenomenal opportunities to just show up!

~ Make a List: In 2008 I made a list of all of the things I was grateful for when I felt really "stuck". In 2009 I am committed to making a list every day so I can stay in that place of "feeling great"!

~ Tell others what you are grateful for: I love to share with others what I am grateful for. Sometimes I just bring it up casually in conversation as an aside.  For example, I might be talking about my husband and I might just add, "I am so grateful to have him in my life".  Or, I will add it to a card or an email I am sending to a client or a friend, "I am so grateful that we met". Using the word more frequently seems to foster an even greater sense of gratitude in my life.

By practicing gratitude every day, you will begin to see an incredible transformation in your business and in your life!  If you already practice gratitude, then this is your opportunity to take it to another level in 2009. Try it-you just might be surprised!

Press Release
Family-Friendly 89.7 KSGN

Good News Radio - Family Friendly 89.7 FM KSGN
According to Steve Gannon, Director of Business Development for KSGN.  It's like David and Goliath.  Contemporary Christian Music station, KSGN, is battling stations with four and five times the budget and double the employees.  The best news is that KSGN is in the top of every PPM ranking!  In the just released Arbitron people meter (PPM) data for Riverside-San Bernardino (market #26) for November 2008, 89.7 FM KSGN ranks 5th in Women 25-54 and 3rd in Women 35-54!  KSGN is also in the top ten (9th) in Adults 35-54.

If you narrow it down to only to Riverside-San Bernardino metro stations, KSGN is #2 in
Women 35-54, #3 in Women 25-54, and 6th in Adults 25-54!

Morning drive and midday's are ranked 2nd in Women 35-54; afternoons and nights are
ranked fourth!

Just a few years ago these numbers would have seemed unimaginable!  Thanks and credit to
Station Manager, Dawn Hibbard for her vision and courage to point KSGN to a major impact in
the community!  Congratulations to Program Director Bryan O'Neal and his team of pros for
their devotion to relevant and compelling Christian radio!  Special congratulations to the entire
Family Friendly, 89.7 FM KSGN team.

SalesSales Success Story!

Meet Amy Boyd

exitWhen my partners and I decided to drop out of corporate life and go out on our own, the first and best decision we made for our business was to do it together.  The four of us met working for one of the "Big 4" Accounting Firms where we each specialized in employee benefit tax consulting.

We've been able to carve out a niche in the tax consulting profession that helps companies comply with the constantly changing complex rules related to retirement and health and welfare benefit plans.  I like to think of us as interpreters.  We translate tax law into layman's terms and provide practical solutions for our clients.

I consider myself very fortunate; I have three of the best partners anyone could ask for. Although, we are each located in different parts of the country, we stay connected via instant messaging.  We are only a mouse click away from each other. When we come across a particularly complex problem, we talk it through with one of the other partners. If we learn something new, we share it with everyone else.  If you want to succeed, build a system of resources. Get connected, ask for help, and learn from others.  Ursula's Sales Coach Now is a great way to get connected to others.
