Hello again!
 This month I have been reminded
of the importance of "My Circles". My brother and
his family came out to visit this month and it was
wonderful spending quality time with them. Disneyland,
through the eyes of a seven and four year old, is just
so much more exciting! In life, it is
important that we not only focus on success at work, but
that we also put time and energy into the circles that
support us.
For example, most of us have a circle of
support from family (in some form), friends and
professional colleagues. Thinking of it in terms of
circles has helped me remember to put time into each
one.
If you aren't spending time with your friends,
that can begin to impact other parts of your life and
business. The same with your family as well as your
business colleagues.
To keep the harmony in my life, I have added time
to my calendar to focus on each circle and that has made
a tremendous difference.
Who is in your
circles? Does one circle need more attention than
the others? Right now, take a moment, and add some
"circle time" to your calendar. You will not be
sorry! Enjoy the spring blossoms!

3 Ways to Make Selling a
Priority
Recently, I wrote the
following on my Facebook wall, "Napoleon
Hill didn't tell us to do busy work and get rich.
He told us to Think and Grow Rich."
After I wrote that on the page, I had many people
respond saying, "Yes, that's great, but what does that
mean?" Someone else wrote,
"Help!" So I thought it was the perfect
article for this month. Imagine that it is
Monday morning. You just had a great weekend and you are
still thinking about it while also trying to get get
geared up for the week ahead. As you slide into
your desk chair without really thinking about
what your intentions are for the day or
for the week, you open your email. Oh, no!
Two hours later, you find
yourself knee deep in email and then the internet is
calling you. By noon, you wonder where the time has gone
and you remind yourself about the sales calls you were
going to make. And then your phone rings. There is
a crisis with one of your clients and you need to deal
with it NOW. An hour
later you realize that if you don't have
lunch, you are either going to die or eat your eraser,
so you step out for a bite to eat. By the time you
return you look at your calendar and realize that it's
time for your weekly sales meeting. And then the
day just goes from there. Have you ever
experienced this? If your answer is yes, do not despair
because you are not alone. This is one of the
biggest challenges that sales professionals and
entrepreneurs face. But there is a
cure! 3 Ways to Make Selling a
Priority:
Make sure your sales goals are posted somewhere you
can see them! Your sales goals need to
outline how much you plan to sell in the month you are
in as well as how many appointments you need to schedule
(based on your closing ratio) to reach that
goal. When you see it on a regular basis,
you will be much more likely to stick with your calling
and appointment times. I highly recommend that you
also schedule time for returning emails and phone
calls. When you batch this type of activity, you
are much more likely to be productive.
Update your daily task
list. Your task list cannot help you
unless you keep it updated and you prioritize the items
on your list every day. When you sit down at your
desk every morning, you need to know what your top 3
priorities are each day. If you just did THOSE (and they
should be sales related) I have no doubt your business
would grow. This is outside of the regular sales calling
and appointment setting that you are doing each
day.
Put time on your calendar for selling
and for thinking! In addition to
scheduling time for selling, you also need time
for just thinking! When you take time away from
your desk and go to a peaceful place where you can just
think about the fastest and easiest way to grow your
sales, you would be surprised to see the amazing ideas
that will show up. These ideas usually require inspired
action and will help you move quickly toward your
stretch goal! Action
Item: Before you move on to your next task
today, make sure you have time for selling AND for
thinking on your calendar! Remember, if you
are chained to your desk answering email and just doing
busy work, you are actually sabotaging your success.
When you schedule time in your calendar to succeed, you
are demonstrating your commitment to your own success
and you will be able to move forward
effortlessly!

took Ursula's "Selling with Intention". It has changed
the way I build my business. SWI helped me
integrate two practices that helped me grow my business
by over 35%. First, writing each day my
intentions and second, scheduling two appointments each
day.
By writing each day a list of my intentions has
helped me to focus. I have been able to help my clients
manage their fears, losses, and navigate the challenging
economy. My intentions focus on what needs to be done
and how I want to feel. It allows me to choose to keep a
positive attitude, regardless of what happens. My
positive attitude allows me to be of greater value to I
encounter.
For example: I host monthly dinners. The morning of
a dinner I write that my intention is to have at least
seven people attend the dinner, even though
the prior evening only five individuals have positively
responded. By making calls, eight people attended
my dinner in March.
The second practice, scheduling appointments, is
allowing me the opportunity to open new accounts and
widen my circle of influence by over 300 new
relationships. These two daily disciplines are simple.
They do not take more than 45 minutes per day. Each
helps me to focus my attention and build consistency,
which lead to great success.
