I joined Visual i Solutions Inc. in mid-March 2008. It wasn't something I was looking for but the opportunity presented itself. This was something new and I had no experience in the industry. Initially, my thoughts were I am going to sell projectors and screens. I was wrong.
 
What we do is more than that and sometimes it is hard for people to visualize beyond a projector and screen. What has helped greatly on my sales journey is taking Ursula's 3-Day Sales Intensive Class. I learned a lot about where to focus and to really put my sales goals and personal goals out there.
I had no idea there was so much business out there for the taking and I have been actively going after the business. I make phone calls daily and attend many networking functions. I have been telling everyone about what I am doing.
 
The biggest impact is when people can actually see what we do. I attended a Chamber function recently and the room had been transformed into a cozy setting. The great thing about this room was it was done using audiovisual equipment and lighting. I was able to take this example and let people know this is exactly what we can do, plus more.
 
I have been contacting non-profits, music and film festivals, hotels, associations and so many more. They all need our services. Sales is never easy, but I have learned you must never give up, always ask for help, listen to those who give good advice, and get inspiration from others who want to see you grow and achieve your goals.

Patience and persistence.
 
Those two words have been on my mind recently.  I had the opportunity to meet with one of my great mentors, Dr. Ray (also a columnist in The Quest for Success), and I asked him for his opinion on the keys to success. 
 
He answered quickly, "Patience and persistence." 
 
I am grateful to have mentors in my life who remind me frequently of the keys to success. I have what some people might call an "A Type" personality.  I think that is just a great way of saying that I am impatient! Can you relate?  Entrepreneurs, Sales People and Executives are good at juggling many balls at the same time while still keeping our eyes on the big goal, but we are rarely patient.
 
At any given moment it is easy to feel overwhelmed by the pressure of our goals and our own expectations.  The key, though, is to remember that we can only take one step at a time. Just ONE! When I wrote my first book, "Selling with Intention", I thought that I would never finish it!  There were many days when I had writer's block simply because I was trying to force the words to come.  But when I relaxed and just reminded myself that it was just one step at a time, the words began to easily flow.
 
Inspired Action:
1.  Are you feeling impatient about reaching one of your goals?
2. Whatever it is, write the goal down.
3.  Next, write down 5 small steps that you can take toward your goal along with the dates that you will achieve them.
4.  NOW, relax and trust that you are on your way!

Visual i Solutions was established on a foundation of adversity, determination, and perseverance.  I consider founding and developing Visual i Solutions as my greatest success thus far.  It has been extremely satisfying and a grand adventure creating an organization of my own.  I achieved all the successes in my life from choices, experiences and lessons, which have molded the man that I am today.  As I think back, since childhood I have always had big dreams. We have the innate ability to dream and I feel the world gives us so many endless possibilities.  I have become determined to succeed and I am driven by the unlimited possibilities.
 
I grew up in a family of four brothers, two sisters and loving parents.  We have always been a very tight knit family through good times and bad.  Our parents instilled in us strong family values and taught us the importance of hard work, responsibility and honesty.  However I believe I've been most inspired by my mother.  My mother taught me to hold myself to higher standards and to learn to lead from real leaders.  Her guidance has formed my view and attitude toward life.  I have always believed in myself, been ready to face life without fear and willing to pay the price.  Although through the course of my life there have been many times I've been discouraged, I never gave up.  Failure is not an option. As the eldest in my family I have always set out to be a good example.  Believing in myself has been the most valuable lesson I've learned.
 
In college I studied Electronic Engineering.  While still in school I landed my first job in the field with Presenta Technologies where I met my first career mentor Jason Lu.  Jason taught me to work in a team environment.  He allowed me to step into different roles in the company to learn and grow.  Under Jason's leadership I began to understand what was expected of me in order to contribute to the team and become and integral part of an organization.  Shortly after I went to work with a large engineering firm based out of Chicago, IL; where I was introduced to the "Corporate World" and met my second mentor Larry Blaney.  I worked as an engineer that consisted of approximately 75% travel.  Travel abroad opened my mind and confirmed my belief in endless possibilities.  I was exposed to sales on a large scale and worked on many large projects for the firm.  I had the privilege of working along side Larry Blaney, a huge success story himself. 
 
While working with the firm in Chicago I was financially stable and enjoyed the lifestyle that it afforded me.  The culmination of the guidance, education, experience, and lessons seem to have brought me to great success and I was "on top of the world".  Little did I know the road to creating Visual i Solutions would be just over the horizon.  The tragedy of 9/11 greatly impacted the firm that I worked for and before I knew it, I was no longer employed.  Everything I was accustomed to was gone.  I found myself down on one knee trying to find my way again.  I took a few different positions with other companies however deep down I was not satisfied. I was yearning for the opportunity to apply all that I had attained.  I had no idea what I was going to do but I was compelled to create something BIG, and was not about to give up!

On February 27, 2004 Visual i Solutions was officially open for business.  Visual i Solutions started as a service and repair company. As my team began to grow and we were exposed to new related industries, the Audio Visual industry caught my interest.  Audio Visual Technology events and productions just seemed to fit my personality.  The match was made and we soon became Visual i Solutions Audio Visual Technology Rentals!

There is a huge fear Consciousness that is gripping and controlling the thoughts, attitudes, emotions and actions of multitudes of people in our society and world in the present moment.
 
The politicians proclaim it, the press organizations print and emphasize it and the television media and commentator proclaim and discuss it over and over.
 
As a result of all of this - millions of people BELIEVE it and as a consequence are loosing their jobs, their homes, their pension plans, savings, investments, health care - hopes and peace of mind.
 
In the face of the totality of this APPARENT CALAMITY I SAY TO YOU AGAIN "THERE IS NO RECESSION"!
 
HERE IS AN ABSOLUTE, ULTIMATE REALITY AND TRUTH:
 
IN THE LIFE ESSENCE, BEING AND ULTIMACY OF THE UNIVERSAL SOURCE OF YOUR LIFE AND BEING THERE IS ONLY ETERNAL - LIMITLESS - UNDIMINISHABLE ABUNDANCE!!
 
THERE IS AND CAN NEVER BE A RECESSION OR LACK IN THE LIMITLESS ABUNDANCE OF THE UNIVERSE AND IT IS ALL FOR YOU!
 
Why then are vast multitudes of people suffering from lack, want and loss in their present life condition?
 
THE REASONS ARE TWO:
 
(1)  Vast multitudes do not KNOW the Ultimate Truth and Reality of what I just shared with you.

Get in the habit of finishing the job. 

A lot of us think that cooking the meal is the task and then we go off and do our thing. But cooking the meal also involves planning the meal, shopping for the meal, cooking the meal, putting the away the leftovers, loading the dishwasher with the dirty dishes, and then putting away the clean dishes. That is the whole job. If we only do part of the job, then the rest of the job has to be done later which is exactly how we become overwhelmed.

When you bring in the mail, the whole job is to bring the mail in, open it, sift through it, decipher what goes and what stays, and then put the bills where they will be paid etc.

Begin looking at the whole job. What does it entail? You just might find that by not finishing the whole job, you are actually creating the unorganization in your life.

Out of self-discipline comes order, and out of order comes peace and harmony.
